“Dear Japan, you are awesome .. full stop”. As if Japan hasn’t got all the best things in the world, here’s an interesting addition to their arsenal of amazement, a spherical OLED screen globe. This globe was unveiled last year in the The National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation and it is called Geo-Cosmos.

Standing at 19 feet in size, this pretty globe has little tiny square shaped OLED screens in fact there are 10,362 of them that are combined together forming a globe which also happens to shows a replica of the current state of Earth in real-time with a bit of delay. It is like Google Earth in real life and to top it off, it is interactive where the museum’s visitors have a touch screen display that is immediately reflected on the pretty globe.

This installment was built by Mitsubishi Electric and I recommend watching the video, definitely worth it.

فيديو يوضح مميزات التحديث الجديد لأجهزة ماك، كنت أفكر آخذ لاب توب ويندوز حق الأهل لكن من بعد هالمميزات غيرت رايي

My friend spotted a windmill that was installed at Kuwait Environment Protection Society in Shuweikh for power production, I contacted them and they said they will soon fix 17 windmills over Kuwait, great!

The windmill can generate about 3000 watts in 24 hours and can store the energy for later usage, this is great for Kuwaiti environment. I recall a project to use windmills in Kuwait but not sure if they are still on-track.

Thanks [Fahad]

This 4-part mini documentary series was on the net for a while. I didn’t wanna post them until they’re finished, which they did when part 4 was released today. Also, the makers also did the Everything is Remix The Matrix & Kill Bill.
I really loved those videos. I hope the guy who did it will do a major documentary one day.

This is a very wonderful video that also happens to be mind-bending on so many levels. This short video showcases roller coasters and other theme park rides flying in the air with no tracks, pipes or ropes, just enjoying the ride across the city.

Obviously is this is not the work of Magician David Copperfield but instead its a clever video editing technique by Black Sheep Films where they edit out tracks and such and make the experience look very real to the point where you’d probably believe if you just woke up and watched the video.

The editing itself is really great, you don’t see the tracks and what makes it harder is that the cameras actually move and shake which makes getting rid of tracks in post production a great deal of stress. All in all though, this is a brilliant and clever video that is definitely with checking out.

Apple will be releasing another new Mac operating system called  Mac OS X Mountain Lion this summer. Like Lion before it, Apple has imbued the new software with many of the top-billed features from the iPhone and iPad, all with the intent of making its computers more useful and approachable to the millions that have snatched up an iOS device in recent years. It’s also a direct response to recently-added features on those devices that–for better or worse–make the Mac a less essential piece of the puzzle.

You really have to check out this video posted by Hello965, it looks like Siri is caught in the middle of an argument. This video made me laugh so hard, but I must warn you, there is a bit of swearing in it ;p, it made me laugh soooo hard.

As a part of Valentine’s Day promotion, Takashimaya a Japanese department store in Tokyo's Shinjuku district teamed up with Dr. Hiroshi Ishiguro of Intelligent Robotics Laboratory, Osaka University and installed a lifelike lady android mannequin in their shop display that intrigued and surprised passersby and shoppers with her range of emotions and movements.

Through a kinect system and face recognition software, the android functions, reacts and moves when people stand in front her. The lady robot nods, yawns, smiles, moves about in her chair and interacts with shoppers. The robot is capable of reflecting over 60 facial expressions in a lifelike natural way! Dr. Ishiguro said that the lady robot clutching a bag and cell phone was arranged in a pose as if waiting for someone.

"Android falls in love? She is waiting for you" reads the writing on her glass box at Takashimaya Department Store in Tokyo's Shinjuku district. The mechanical lady was modeled on a real woman in her twenties. "What is this android feeling when you look at it?" Ishiguro mused. "That's quite fun to imagine."
