Israel said on Saturday that it will respond to cyber-attacks in the same way it responds to violent “terrorist” acts, by striking back with force against hackers who threaten the Jewish state.

The message from Deputy Foreign Minister Dany Ayalon came after a self-defined “Saudi hacker” from a cabal known as “group-xp” published details of more than 6,000 Israeli credit cards online.

“It is necessary to send a message to everyone who attacks or tries to attack Israel, including in cyberspace,” Ayalon said in quotes published widely in Israeli media.

Hackers stand warned, he said, “that they are putting themselves in danger and that they will not benefit from any immunity against reprisal actions from Israel.”

Cyber-attacks amount to “terrorism that must be treated as such. In cyberspace, we have active capacities and we can hit those who try to hit us.”

Ayalon also applauded the United States for declaring that “all attacks in their cyberspace will be considered as a declaration of war and they will react as if it had been a missile attack.”

On Thursday, the Saudi hacker, who goes by the name “OxOmar”, said he had posted the details of 11,000 Israeli credit cards online, but Israel’s three major credit card companies said only 6,050 cards were affected.

Earlier in the week, 0xOmar posted a message on an Israeli sports website saying group-xp, which he described as the “greatest Saudi Arabian hacker team,” had posted details of 400,000 Israeli cards online.

After examining the details, Israel’s major credit card companies said only 14,000 valid cards had been exposed.

Israeli news website Ynet reported that an Israeli computer expert claimed to have uncovered the true identity of 0xOmar — a 19-year-old Mexican waiter called Omar Habib.

A third file containing hacked credit card details of ‘Israelis’ was published by another hacker, identifying himself as “X” on Friday evening, the new file contains some Data from the same credit cards that was revealed earlier this week.

‘Israeli’ financial sources warned that the current file might contain a Trojan horse and that “people should refrain from downloading it”.

This latest publication was not the work of the Saudi hacker xOmar 0, but another person, who used the information contained in the files published earlier.

In a message, the hacker identifies himself as hacker “X,” and says he belongs to Group-XP, which xOmar 0stated he is part of.

xOmar 0 responded on Friday evening, saying that this was not the list he has, “My list contains details of 1.1 million credit cards, and has not been updated since Thursday. I don’t publish viruses, and I don’t know the person who published this list” he confirmed.

xOmar 0 said earlier this week that he had revealed information including credit card details, personal addresses, names, phone numbers and ID numbers of individuals listed on the website, One.co.il.

xOmar 0 dismisses  the ‘Israeli’ blogger claim to have uncovered his identity .

Meanwhile an ‘Israeli’ blogger Amir Fedida claimed on Friday, that xOmar 0 currently resides in Mexico, according to Fedida, the hacker is a 19-year old who works in a café, and studies computer science in at the “Hidalguense Cenhies” in Mexico. Fedida claims the hacker is originally from the United Arab Emirates.

Hours after blogger claimed to have uncovered the identity of the hacker, xOmar 0 told ‘Israeli’ media that they got the wrong person, adding that “No one is going to arrest me, it’s not possible.”

xOmar 0 mocked the claim that his identity was revealed, stating : “If a stupid student thinks he can find me within 8 hours of work, what will Mossad do? But I’m still here and no one can find me, make sure, no worries, I’m waiting”.

xOmar 0  : how much time do Mossad or interpol needs to find me?”

xOmar 0  insisted that it was a wrong identification, claiming that “it’s impossible to track me via email orfacebook or anything like that. I’m an advanced hacker who knows everything about the internet; I know very well how to hide myself…..I’ll send more files and more emails, how much time do Mossad or interpol needs to find me?” adding that he was from Riyadh, not Mexico.

xOmar 0 stated that his next targets include  ‘’military contractors and ‘Israeli’ SCADA systems (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition), the enemy must be targeted slowly, not with one hit, so that the enemy will suffer more”. xOmar 0  spelled out why he is  targeting ‘Israel’  he wrote.. ”  ‘Israel’ attacks and kills innocent Palestinian people, they commit genocide, and they even break legal international rules, the entire world has a problem with ‘Israel’, I want to harm ‘Israel’ financially and socially.” xOmar 0 said.

@pod2g has created a terrific gift for iOS fans — an untethered 5.0.1 jailbreak for non-A5 devices!

Many of you have already been following @pod2g’s blog where he’s been keeping everyone up to date on his progress.  And so you know that he recently decided to push the button on a release for all devices except the new iPhone4S and iPad2.  @pod2g’s untether involves two separate exploits and a few other “tricks” — and since he’s taken the @comex approach of doing nearly everything himself, you know his plate has been full these past few months!

A few days ago, @pod2g gave the untether to both the iPhone devteam and the chronic devteam.  We’ve put it into redsn0w 0.9.10 and PwnageTool, and the chronic devteam put it into a Cydia package (the same set of exploits is in all three).

Here are the basic steps for how to get it:

  • The untether is for iOS 5.0.1 on iPhone3GS, iPhone4, iPhone4-CDMA, iPad1, iPod touch 3G, iPod touch 4G
  • If you have one of those devices and are not on 5.0.1 yet, update now!  The SHSH window is still open for 5.0.1  If you unlock via ultrasn0w or gevey, make sure you only get to 5.0.1 via a custom IPSW!  See the guides at places like iClarified.com if you don’t know how.  Once you’re at 5.0.1, use the latest redsn0w 0.9.10 to both jailbreak and untether.
  • If you’re already at 5.0.1 with a tethered jailbreak, you have two choices: either run redsn0w 0.9.10 over your current jailbreak (deselect “Install Cydia” if you do that), or install the Cydia package prepared by the chronic devteam.  The patches are the same regardless of which you choose.
  • Some of you are using a hybrid 5.0/5.0.1 configuration.  If so, do not attempt to install this untether over that setup!  You will most likely get into a reboot cycle.  Do a sync and fresh restore to 5.0.1 then install the jailbreak + untether.

As mentioned earlier, @pod2g has spent months working on all the exploits and tricks in this untether, and many of you may be wondering how you can send donations.  Although the iPhone devteam itself doesn’t take donations, we thought it was appropriate to provide a link at the end of the redsn0w run for you to more easily donate directly to @pod2g if you wish (alternatively, you can go right here).  There’s a link in the Cydia package for donating to the chronic devteam for the Cydia version of @pod2g’s untether.

@pod2g is now looking for a way to extend this to A5 devices.  Because those devices cannot use geohot’s limera1n exploit to inject the untether, they require exploits above and beyond those used for this release.  Keep following pod2g on twitter or his blog for any progress reports!

Here are the redsn0w download links:

On Monday 28th November Nokia Lumia 800 with Windows phone brought deadmau5 and the world’s most advanced 4D technology together and created an amazing free light show at Millbank Tower, London.

Millbank was plunged into darkness with the iconic tower acting as the canvas for a never-before-seen spectacular. Each of the 120 metre high building’s 800 windows were covered with vinyl as 16 powerful projectors, stationed 300 metres away on the other side of the river, beamed 3D images onto the structure. Huge butterflies flew across the London skyline and the tower was twisted, pulsated and even fell down. Billed as the “future of live events” the spectacular show was accompanied by music from super producer deadmau5, who created exclusive remixes for the performance — adding the 4th dimension.

(Reuters) – First it was a bronze statue in Hungary. Now it’s a Grammy.

The accolades for Steve Jobs, who died Oct 5, are still pouring in. The Recording Academy said on Wednesday it is giving the co-founder of Apple a special “Trustees Award” Grammy. The Grammys, of course, are the top honors in the U.S. music industry.

“As former CEO and co-founder of Apple, Steve Jobs helped create products and technology that transformed the way we consume music, TV, movies, and books,” the Recording Academy said in a statement.

“A creative visionary, Jobs’ innovations such as the iPod and its counterpart, the online iTunes store, revolutionized the industry and how music was distributed and purchased,” the statement added.

A formal acknowledgment of his award will be made during annual Grammy Awards ceremony on February 12 in Los Angeles.

In 2002, Apple was a recipient of a technical Grammy award for contributions of outstanding technical significance to the recording field.

A really inspirational documentary about Steve Jobs by BBC

Apple has lost a battle over the iPad trademark in China to a Hong Kong based company named Proview Technology. Proview reportedly filed for the iPad trademark in China in 2000, which was long before Apple conceived of its iPad tablet.

Apple has lost a court battle over the trademark of the word ‘iPad’ in China.

The company has been locked in an ongoing legal battle with Hong Kong-based manufacturer Proview since 2006, over claims by Proview that Apple unwittingly purchased the trademark for the wrong global region.

Now, a court in south China has sided with Proview.

Although Apple can appeal, they presently look set to lose the right to the iPad name.

The legal dispute is a long and complicated one. Proview’s Taiwan subsidiary sold the rights to ‘iPad’ to apple in 2006 for $54,000.

But the firm state Apple did not buy the rights to the Chinese trademark in that agreement, only the Taiwanese region.

Xie Xianghui, a lawyer for Proview Technology said: “Actually we believe Apple infringed upon our client’s trademark earlier, when it released the iPad on the Chinese mainland market, which is already in breach of the law. It should be punished by law.”

Proview uses the iPad name on several products, including computer monitors.

The company has asked Apple to pay for a trademark transfer in exchange for compensation, but no agreement has been reached, and in the meantime legal cases against Apple, and its Chinese resellers, continue.
