I read on Al Rai paper this story about employees at Ministry of Social Affairs coming to work wearing shorts and t-shirts, I thought all work places in Kuwait force dress code where employees can only wear either Dishdasha or a suit. Sounds more like a mall than a workplace, totally unprofessional.

A friend of ours spotted Nissan Patrol SUV performing crazy sideways, this is popular in Qatar and now in Kuwait.

نتشر مقطع فيديو على اليوتيوب لحادث مروع لسيارة فيراري بأحد شوارع سنغافورة … الحادث ادى إلى قتل ثلاثة اشخاص. يظهر الفيديو سيارة أجرة هيونداي سوناتا زرقاء تنطلق على الإشارة الخضراء، وبعد وصولها إلى منتصف التقاطع، نرى فيراري 599 GTO تعبر الاشارة الحمراء وتصطدم بالهيونداي.
توفي سائق الفيراري وهو رجل أعمال يبلغ 31 عاما من العمر على الفور في حين توفوا سائق وراكبة سيارة الأجرة متأثرين بجراحهم بعد بضع ساعات في المستشفى. تم نقل راكبة الفيراري وسائق دراجة نارية، قد اصطدمت به سيارة الأجرة، إلى المستشفى بعد جراح خطيرة.
وأشارت مواقع وأنباء إلى أن قائد سيارة الأجرة يبلغ من العمر 52 عاما، أما الراكبة التي كانت معه وقضت في الحادث فهي شابة في العشرينات من عمرها، كان هناك أيضا جريحان كان يستقلان الفيراري أحدهما يدعى محمد نجيب غزالي.
هذا العمل استغرق مايقرب 65.5 ساعة على مدى 8 ايام لصف 60,000 قطعة دومينو على متداد 14 قدم … ليسقط دفعة واحدة في اقل من 12 ثانية !!!
After work I passed by Al Manshar Mall today for lunch and before leaving I asked the mall’s staff if the rumor about demolishing the mall soon is true, guess what? Its true. I’m surprised because the mall is new, I think was opened in 2007 and now they are going to demolish it totally to re-build another bigger mall that they say will be the 2nd biggest in Kuwait with a cost of 70 Million Dinar.
I like about Manshar mall that they have those souvenirs and antiques shop that can’t be found elsewhere in Kuwait, they could have at least considered to renovate or re-design the mall to minimize the cost but I guess money isn’t an issue for the owners.
Anyhow they say the mall will be shutdown by end of 2012, I shot a few pictures for the mall to remember the old Manshar Mall by.
Is it just me or is Kuwait weather (or should I say climate) has been changing in the last few years? We are getting extremely hot temperatures that exceed 54+ degrees Celsius during the summer, negative temperatures during the winter, we are also getting more dusty days through out the year even during the winter and spring seasons, add to this the scarce rain fall, and sometimes we experience dust/humidity/rain combo at the same time (like yesterday and today).
Also we sometimes get some rain during summer, then we have those scary heavy dust storms that hit us every now and then let alone the dust every weekend. I know we are currently experiencing what we call in Kuwait (Pre-Sarayat and Sarayat) but changing climate is also another possibility since its a global phenomenon.

It seems the never ending debate regarding where the singer Shams is from has just came to an end when she stated in an interview that she’s Saudi. Though this isn’t the reason I’m posting this since I wasn’t curious where she’s from, but seeing how people are obsessed to know every tiny private detail about her is kinda funny, even the paper printed the story on the first page to boost sales.
I guess this is the tax one must pay to become a celebrity.

On my way to work this early morning I saw this billboards on King Fahad high, it reads “Here Begins the Future Kuwait” with a sketch for the planned Sheikh Jaber Bridge project, I’m not exactly sure what they meant with that but it seems its a PR thing to help showing that they’re working.
Later I saw on the paper the same ad with all the current projects handled by Ministry of Public Work but I’m wondering if they can really complete the Metro Project and new Kuwait airport as planned, I consider them to the be the most vital projects that we need.
Our blog visitor Yousif sent us this video for an armed robbery that he says happened in Hawally on 22th of April at 9:00 AM. Its kinda funny how the whole robbery took no longer than two minutes, I’m even suspecting the robber used a plastic gun.
Hopefully the police will apprehend the cold-blooded thief shortly.
