Apparently tap water in public restrooms is not for drinking after all. Who knew.

Spotted this at the Holiday Inn Salmiya. Would really, really like to know the story which led to sticking such a note on the wall for everyone to see.

I was heading toward Ahmedi on King Fahad highway I saw a massive cloud of smoke covering Subhan area and extending toward South Surra area and other surrounding areas, moments later I received news that this fire is at Kuwait Flour Mills & Bakeries. Neither cause nor exact location is confirmed till now, sadly this is the fourth massive fire in Kuwait in a month time.

I hope everyone is safe.

So Kuwait’s environment has ranked the 10th worst in the world according to the World Health Organization. If you think that is an exaggerated rank, you should really watch this video.

I know we already do see different aspects of pollution here and there. But for me, seeing everything combined in one video altogether is an eye-opener. The level of pollution is really bad.. really bad.

As for the solutions the video suggests, most of them are already being applied.

  • We now have fines for littering
  • A huge solar energy project is in the making
  • And recycling/clean up campaigns are doing their best.

But whatever is done, the way I see it, Kuwait doesn’t stand a chance if people’s mentalities aren’t to change first.

The Avenues are having a “flowers exhibition” this weekend, Thursday to Sunday 17-20 May 2012. I hope it is how I’m imagining it to be.

After work I passed by Al Manshar Mall today for lunch and before leaving I asked the mall’s staff if the rumor about demolishing the mall soon is true, guess what? Its true. I’m surprised because the mall is new, I think was opened in 2007 and now they are going to demolish it totally to re-build another bigger mall that they say will be the 2nd biggest in Kuwait with a cost of 70 Million Dinar.

I like about Manshar mall that they have those souvenirs and antiques shop that can’t be found elsewhere in Kuwait, they could have at least considered to renovate or re-design the mall to minimize the cost but I guess money isn’t an issue for the owners.

Anyhow they say the mall will be shutdown by end of 2012, I shot a few pictures for the mall to remember the old Manshar Mall by.

Yup. We call them construction workers.

Have you ever seen a worker secured with ropes or any kind of safety gear while working on such heights in Kuwait? Because believe it or not there IS a law for that. Well, supposed to be.

I have always wondered how can safety laws at construction sites here be simply ignored, and ignored so openly. It’s not like nothing bad ever happens there has been many tragic accidents over the years. I really don’t understand how can this issue be of no importance.

Did you know?
-Pineapple, kiwi, grapefruit, and other herbal drinks don’t help your body lose fat.
-Working out on an empty stomach doesn’t help you lose fat.
-Not drinking any water during your exercise will cause your muscles and ligaments to become stiff.
