Salam, I have visited the Info Connect Exhibition today, and was stunned.
Now as I recall, after the announcement of the 1000 K.Ds for each Kuwaiti, they also promised to make sure that no "thief" is going to raise the prices of his products to make sure they earn as much as they can from people's money.
I have also seen numbers being spread around twitter and everywhere, saying that if you notice something getting higher prices, call those numbers and they will sort things out. I really thought that this will bring order, but I was wrong.
They did not just raise prices, but they raised them too high as to say "IN YOUR FACE!"
My 8 MB DSL connection that I got last year, prior to last year's Info Connect Exhibition (so no discounts) from Qualitynet, was discounted at LAST year's Info Connect Exhibition to 300 K.Ds.
Now in Info Connect 2011, that same subscription costs 575 K.Ds! And it is supposed to be at a discounted price! You know what their excuse was when I questioned them about this unbelievable thing?
"Everything is going up, look at the Iphone, it went up 80 K.Ds."
So if the people selling the I-Phone were stealing from people, you'd do that too?
Is that your excuse? what are you 5?

If you know me, then you know how important internet and good connection (not just speed, CONNECTION!) is important to me. My DSL Subscription ends on 24th of this month. And even if the Emir gave us 10,000 K.Ds, I would use the crappy 3G internet until you're sorted out. (Qualitynet, Fast Telco, Kems, and Gulfnet, even if you have good internet, I don't deal with thieves.)
Of course, everything else is going up high, not just the internet. But I focused on this because it is what I went there for.
But if you noticed, EVERYTHING is going up high, And where is the promise that was given to us by the
Ministry of Trade and Industry?
This is not a store that is hidden and trying to escape your eyes, this is a huge exhibition! Sigh..
I paid InfoConnect expo a little visit this morning to see if there’s anything interesting to see or if there are special offers to get, but frankly I was disappointed. All I saw were the same Hawally shops plus telecom and ISP’s with some offers.
There were some good offers but nothing major, so if you are looking for latest techno news or products InfoConnect is surely not the right place for you. I brought you the internet yearly offers, hope this helps.
