Tomorrow will mark the first day for Kuwait’s most popular electronics/telecom expo, InfoConnect, at Kuwait International Fair and extends for a week.

I always enjoyed visiting InfoConnect expo where people could find really great deals, but I’ve noticed in the recent years that its not like before, we want to see the latest things technology has reached plus more variety and more companies.

When: January 29th till February 4th
Where: Kuwait International Fair – Mishref.
Time: 9:00am – 1pm, 4:30pm – 9pm

I was at Eureka Salmiyah earlier today and saw they just released a pink colored Samsung Galaxy SII, I asked them about the price they said 179 KD.

It looked girlish and cute, finally we have new colors other than black and white.

Last night we got invited from Research In Motion (RIM) for an exclusive bloggers seminar at Marina Hotel.

RIM  started with highlighting very interesting facts such as:

-BlackBerry’s still the No.1 smartphone in Kuwait.

-BlackBerry packages in Kuwait are the lowest in the region.

-BBM is still the most secured messenger and the most used by governments.

-BlackBerry subscribers has doubled (120% increase) in the Middle East.

-AppWorld has over 36,000 applications since it was launched in May 2011.

RIM’s representative then gave us a sneak peek on BlackBerry’s latest OS 7.1 features such as:

-FM Radio: Users can share music.

-Wi-Fi Hotspot: Up to 5 devices can share WiFi connectivity.

-NFC-enabled: Users can share media files, information, URLS instantly by tapping NFC-Enabled BlackBerry phones.

-Ability to use Android applications on BlackBerry.

RIM also shown us their latest smartphones and said that BlackBerry PlayBook will receive many enhancements on the software soon.

We wish to thank RIM for their invitation and we brought you more pictures from the Seminar.

We are back with a new whole competition, winners who didn’t win with us last time now have another chance to win a brand new HTC Android phone!

Guess what ? There are no trick questions or puzzles this time, all you have to do is only submit a comment and you may be the winner!

Rules: There no rules what so ever and winner will be randomly chosen and Merry Christmas!

I came to know that VIVA Telecom has announced today that they will launch the whole new 4th Generation (4G) of mobile technology in Kuwait by tomorrow, and by this they will be the first carrier to launch the 4G technology in Kuwait, well in the Middle East to be more precise.

The 4G LTE allows transfer rate up to 100 MB/S which is much faster than the current 3G network, I recall VIVA was testing the 4G technology about a year ago and they invited many bloggers. I can’t wait to try the 4G technology but we first need phones and devices that support it.

While checking out the new stuff at Virgin Megastore, which is way bigger than the one in Kuwait, I found this cool retro-handset for iPhone and iPad. I tried it and the voice quality was good so I bought it.

Anything to bring back the 80′s. :)

Today we want to take you on a tour for GITEX 2011 electronics expo in Dubai, our blog friend Eng. Mohammed brought us many cool photos and information !

GITEX remains to be my favorite electronics expo in Middle East, why ? Because it brings the latest technologies in one place, plus the big number of participating companies. Sadly Kuwait Info Connect expo doesn’t bring us much.

Here we have the world’s largest Full HD 3D 152″ screen from Panasonic.

Check this one, a weather proof TV from Panasonic, it can resist water and dust, nice.

This one is a nice 65 inch wall mount multi-touch screen for many purposes.

I liked their E-Government project, they have applications for every device (iPhone, iPad, Androids, BlackBerry, Galaxy Tab..etc) so citizens can easily pay or access any service.

This one is the world’s most intelligent riding robot for kids with sensors, voice alert, and turn radius, nice!

Here we have innovative water proof speakers.

This one is wireless camera bag from a Korean company.

In here, we have a small home robot that can do many house works.

Even Dubai police are now fixing wireless cameras on the dogs so they can record everything.

Apple was also part of expo with many products.

School books in Dubai are on iPads, I think Kuwait is also planning to use iPads and CD’s instead of paper ones.

Another multi-touch screen used as a table for many purposes from Panasonic.

I like the E-Gate idea, they can be used for airports for faster immigration and this eliminates the need to wait in long queues for an immigration officer to stamp and verify individual passports.

This is an amazing dust and weather proof laptop computers.

There’s a lot more to see at GITEX, now we’ll leave you with some photos that we have taken, and hope you enjoyed the short tour. :)

Thanks [Eng. Mohammed]

To get it search iTunes or appstore for iSeeker.

Thanks [Ahmad]

Remember ALCATEL phone ? I went to Eureka yesterday looking for BlackBerry 9900 and saw that ALCATEL had returned after many years of disappearance, I’m surprised its still surviving among iPhone and Androids. :)

My friend on Facebook had shared with me a video for what it seems like iPhone 5 web page on Apple website, they claim that web page was immediately removed by Apple company. The specs include A5 Dual-Core chip, 8 MP camera with Full 1080p HD, 4.2 inch screen with resolution of 960 x 640. It also seems slimmer than iPhone 4, though I highly doubt the credibility.

Thanks [Khalid], [Makadait]

A friend of us got his hands on the new Black Berry Bold 9900, he says its slimmer and lighter than the Black Berry torch 9800, the processor speed is 1.2 Ghz processor, 768 MB ram, 5mp camera, OS 7, 8 GB internal storage memory, LED flash, 2.8 in touch screen, 720 HD video recording.

Sadly, the keyboard was English-only, so we have to wait a few weeks before it comes to Kuwait. Eureka said it will be available in a few weeks for 200 K.D

 Thanks [Boodai]

RIM just released the new BBM version 6 with some added features such as chatting while using apps or playing games. Also the look had been improved a bit and it seems faster.

As much as I think BlackBerry is going down, the BBM is still the safest and most private messenger available.

You can read more about it here
